Profoundly Religious ???

Recently a politician made a statement about his impeachment vote. In his statement he mentioned “I am profoundly religious”. I know what “profoundly” means but does “religious” mean?

Does being religious make you right or righteous; does it make to pleasing in the eyes of YAH, does it make you some kind of holy person, does YAH even like “religious” people?

Some people go to work “religiously” every day, some people drink a six pack of beer “religiously” every day, so does being religious mean? I know religious people who would not go a half of an inch out of their way to help you, yet they say their prayers several times a day and every time the door to their place of worship is open they are there; but what does that get them, what does that accomplish, is it pleasing to YAH?

Does being religious mean that you adhere to a set of rules and regulations that were made by the leaders of your religion and if so how does that please YAH?

We can worship many gods, many thing, many men and still leave YAH out of the picture completely. I remember an old Star Kissed Tuna commercial… It went like this… Charley the tuna would do something to try to show Star Kissed that he had “good taste”… in the end Star Kissed would respond to him “Sorry Charley, Star Kissed doesn’t want tuna with good taste, Star Kissed wants tuna that tastes good”.

YAH is not looking for “religious” people He is looking for people who want a RELATIONSHIP with HIM, that is void of ALL man made rules, regulations and laws, both spoken or unspoken, written or implied; this is why YAH tells us…

Deuteronomy 4:2

“You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of יהוה your Elohim that I command you”.

Deuteronomy 12:32

“Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it”.

You want to make YAH happy them… “Love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart”

Don’t be “profoundly religious” just allow YAH and His word to fill your heart and life, fall in love with Him, serve Him… it will be a lot more fulfilling than being profoundly religious, wearing holy underwear, washing your hands in certain ways, dressing in a certain way. One heartfelt “I Love You” or “Thank You” will touch His heart more than repeating canned prayers you can ever say.

I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

“No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says יהוה. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
