Look at what is going around us today. There is a “plague” on the whole earth, There are massive, destructive fires upon the earth, hurricanes and flooding are washing away cities. Civil unrest is probably at an all time high, lawlessness abounds, perversion abounds, people are out of work, people are starving. The whole world is festering and wars can breakout at any time, there is global instability. Yet we write it off to global warming or a political party, a president or other world leaded or government and we blame the plague on china.
Let me share something I read on Shabbat… “And when יהוה saw it, He spurned them, Because of the provocation of His sons and His daughters. And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be, For they are a perverse generation, Children in whom is no faith. They have provoked Me to jealousy by what is not God; They have moved Me to anger by their foolish idols. But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move them to anger by a foolish nation. For a fire is kindled by my anger, And shall burn to the lowest hell; It shall consume the earth with her increase, And set on fire the foundations of the mountains. ‘I will heap disasters on them; I will spend My arrows on them They shall be wasted with hunger, Devoured by pestilence and bitter destruction; I will also send against them the teeth of beasts, With the poison of serpents of the dust. The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within For the young man and virgin, The nursing child with the man of gray hairs”.
Does any of that sound familiar?
Have we backed YAH into a corner, if that were possible, with our Idolatry, and He has said “ENOUGH”!
I understand that if we continue to write this off as a political issue, a global warming issue, a racial issue then we do not have to acknowledge that GOD IS and we can go about our Idolatry in peace. Sad to say we are ALL guilty of Idolatry!
There is in reality, only one sin… Idolatry. “I don’t practice Idolatry” you protest. Idolatry is not necessarily about a golden calf or a carved image. Every time you throw your godship in YAH’S face you are, I am, committing Idolatry. What’s, this godship what’s my “godship”? It’s my knowledge of good and evil. Every time I chose to do something YAH has told me not to do or I don’t do something He has told me to do, I am exerting my godship over Him and at that very moment I have put myself and what I want before YAH, thereby committing Idolatry.
“But I thought I had a free will”? You do. You can either play god and have it your way or you can let the creator of everything (I would have said creator of the universe but that is to small and is limited) BE GOD and do it His way.
Oh you do get to choose, , this shirt or that shirt, taco or tamale, even when it comes to what YAH has said, what He has been etched in stone; even there you have a choice either to obey or disobey. Whatever you chose you are executing your godship. You either become one with Him or separated from Him
Oh I almost forgot… you have one other choice: to look at what we are going through as a wakeup call in fact it may be the last wakeup call from GOD or write it all off on global warming and political unrest. Rest assured, there will not be any “when thing go back to normal, or the way they used to be” This is the new normal and it is only going to get worst from here! It’s time to return to YAH with are whole hearts.
On a happier note… I chose chocolate, the hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut, the teal shirt and I want two of the tacos and the tamales!
